</ul></div><h4><em><strong>Why this role is exciting</strong></em></h4>
<p>We’re looking for an experienced <strong>Senior </strong><strong>Vehicle</strong> <strong>Test Operator</strong> to join our team in Berlin and help test the technology behind Vay’s remotely driven vehicles.</p>
<p>Testing at Vay happens on real vehicles, across real-world driving environments. As a <strong>Senior </strong><strong>Vehicle</strong><strong> Test Operator</strong>, you’ll be among the first people to test new vehicle software and hardware, both through manual driving and remote operation.</p>
<p>You’ll execute vehicle-level tests, troubleshoot issues using automotive diagnostic tools, collect and analyse test data, and work closely with our engineers to identify and resolve problems before changes are released.</p>
<p>This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with vehicles and technology, understands how to test systematically, and takes pride in getting the details right.</p>
<h4><em><strong>What you'll be driving</strong></em></h4>
<p>This is a hands-on role where you'll drive and test our Remote-Driven Car fleet, working through test cases set by our Senior Engineers to check whether our product works as it should.</p>
<p>You'll be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Execute vehicle-level testing across software, hardware and driving systems</li>
<li>Carry out pre-defined test cases from our engineering team, following clear test scripts and reporting exactly what you find</li>
<li>Flash ECUs and troubleshoot vehicle issues using OBD, CAN traces and other diagnostic tools - whether that's building on experience you already have, or learning with the support of a remote support engineer</li>
<li>Use CANoe or similar tools to investigate vehicle behaviour, drawing on existing experience or picking it up on the job</li>
<li>Collect test data and provide clear, structured test reports</li>
<li>Identify, reproduce and document software and hardware bugs</li>
<li>Verify that systems perform consistently against defined requirements</li>
<li>Work alongside engineering teams, providing the on-the-ground eyes and data they need to investigate issues and validate fixes</li>
<li>Support both manual and remote vehicle testing</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong><em>This might be a great fit, if you have</em></strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Around 3+ years of hands-on experience in vehicle testing, test operations or a related field</li>
<li>An EU driving licence, a clean driving record and at least 5 years of driving experience</li>
<li>Confidence driving safely and responsibly in different testing scenarios</li>
<li>Confidence troubleshooting technical issues and documenting findings clearly</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail across testing, bug reporting and test documentation</li>
<li>The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and take ownership of your work</li>
<li>An interest in remotely driven, autonomous or connected vehicle technology</li>
<li>Good working English</li>
<li>Happy to work from our offices near Hauptbahnhof and occasionally at Tegel Airport (we test our cars on the runways)</li>
</ul>
<h4><em>Nice to have</em></h4>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>Safety driver or test driver training</li>
<li>Experience with automotive communication protocols and diagnostics, particularly CAN and OBD</li>
<li>Experience using CANoe or similar automotive testing and diagnostic tools</li>
<li>Experience with Jira or other bug-tracking tools</li>
<li>A technical qualification or background in automotive, electronics, mechatronics or a related field</li>
<li>Experience working in a fast-moving engineering or product development environment</li>
</ul>
